ANI: The Harvest of History

3rd Annual Filipino American History Month Commemoration

Thursday, October 15, 2026, 3:00 to 7:00 PM

Washington State History Museum

FREE as part of Third Thursdays

Filipinos and Filipino Americans have long shaped the history of the United States and of the Pacific Northwest. Join the Filipino American National Historical Society–Greater Puget Sound Chapter (FANHS-GPS) for a celebration of Filipino American history and culture.

As part of the museum’s FREE Third Thursday evenings, this program will honor the Filipino American Community of the Yakima Valley and the historic Wapato Filipino Community Hall, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Celebrate the ani, or harvest, of this community with performances, demonstrations, vendors, and opportunities to connect through shared history, culture, and traditions.

A special panel will explore Filipino American labor activism with activist and historian Rey Pascua, along with Sandra Bowman and Ileene Davis, family members of labor leader and civil rights activist Larry Itliong. Guests can also view objects from the Washington State History Museum’s collections, including a cannon from the Philippines and a nineteenth-century Philippine flag.
