DESCRIPTION:Kraken Studios at the South Puget Sound Community College (S
 PSCC) Lacey Campus is excited to launch a new Dolby Atmos mixing facilit
 y\, bringing world-class audio technology to the South Sound. The cuttin
 g-edge facility is one of very few community-accessible Dolby Atmos spac
 es in the country\, offering creators unprecedented access to profession
 al-level sound mixing\, recording\, and engineering tools.\nThe Dolby At
 mos facility supports creators working across all forms of sound product
 ion. Creators can work independently\, bring their own engineer\, or col
 laborate with one of the studio’s local professionals. Production oppo
 rtunities can support: filmmakers and video creators mixing sound for sh
 ort films\, features\, documentaries\, or digital content\; musicians an
 d composers working in stereo or immersive formats\; voice artists and p
 roducers recording voice-overs\, audiobooks\, podcasts\, vocals\, or spo
 ken-word projects\; and solo instrumentalists capturing high-quality\, i
 solated tracks.\nTo celebrate the opening\, Kraken Studios will host an 
 Open House from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday\, September 29. Community members
  are invited to tour the facility\, experience Dolby Atmos sound demonst
 rations\, explore available production and recording spaces\, get hands-
 on with rental equipment\, meet audio engineer Thomas Pell and other ind
 ustry professionals\, and learn about Kraken Studios’ workshops\, clas
 ses\, and services that support creators through every stage of media pr
 oduction from planning and funding to filming\, editing\, and distributi
 on.\nThis facility is part of Kraken Studios’ larger creative ecosyste
 m that includes film equipment rentals\, workshops\, and access to worki
 ng media professionals. Together\, these resources strengthen the South 
 Sound’s film and media community\, support local creators at every sta
 ge of development\, and contribute to a sustainable creative economy. Kr
 aken Studios’ facilities\, equipment\, workshops\, and services are av
 ailable to the broader community as well as SPSCC students.
