Tumwater’s 38th Annual Independence Day Parade takes place on July 4th, with pre-parade festivities starting at 10:45 a.m. and the main procession beginning at 11:00 a.m. This year’s theme, “250 Years of US,” celebrates America’s semiquincentennial. 
Key Event Details
    • Date: Saturday, July 4
    • Time: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    • Cost: Free admission
    • Parade Route: Begins at the corner of Capitol Boulevard and Lee Street, moves south on Capitol Boulevard to Israel Road, and turns west onto Israel Road. The route continues past City Hall and concludes at the intersection of Linderson Way and Israel Road. 

Parade & Traffic Timeline
    • 8:30 a.m.: Linderson Way and West Lee Street are restricted to emergency access only.
    • 10:30 a.m.: No vehicle access is allowed along the entire parade route.
    • 10:45 a.m.: Pre-parade activities begin.
    • 11:00 a.m.: Parade officially begins. 

Related 4th of July Festivities
If you want to make a full day of it, you can attend the Tumwater Family Festival and the Fireworks Show taking place later that evening: 
    • Time: Event gates open at 6:00 p.m.
    • Location: Tumwater Valley Golf Course (driving range)
    • Activities: Games, music, and a large fireworks show beginning at 10:15 p.m.
    • Cost: Free festival entry, but parking is $10 per vehicle.
